Band Rules and Regulations

Conduct

     Our main goal with the middle school band is to prepare each student musically for his involvement in the high school band.  While most of our time will be spent on "fundamentals", we will definitely have a chance to perform several styles of music.  You must have your instrument at every rehearsal and be prepared to give 100% effort.  I think you realize that band requires strict disciplinary guidelines.  We expect our band members to pay attention and be on their best behavior at all times.

Grades

     Nine week and semester grades will be determined by playing test scores (try-outs), written test scores, classroom discipline and attendance.  Band members are required to attend every performance.  Failure to attend a performance will result in the loss of one letter grade.  Students will only be excused for personal illness, death in the immediate family, or conflict with another school activity.  The directors must be notified in advance of any absence from a performance.

Uniforms

     We will be checking out uniforms soon.  The school provides a red Watonga band shirt.  Each band member must provide his own black slacks, black socks, and black shoes.
